MLB Daily Fantasy Target Players, May 26th, 2023

by: Domagoj Erbežnik

We have a 15 game schedule on Friday and there are several good pitching option for daily fantasy formats. Gausman, Sale and Steele look like three obvious candidates as they are pitchers in form and are facing oposition that isn’t in a form at the moment.

1
Kevin Gausman vs Minnesota Twins
Last 3 starts: 21 IP, 14 H, 1.71 ERA, 23 SO versus PHI, NYY and BAL

Gausman has been solid over the last 3 starts allowing only 3 earned runs in those matchups against good offenses in Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees, and Baltimore Orioles. He hasn’t recorded a win since April 23rd and a 7-inning gem in New York versus the Yankees. The Twins are struggling lately with their offense as they have a batting average of .222 and only 19 runs in the last 5 games (2 against the Angels and 3 against the Giants). This is a likely favorable matchup for him and he should record one more quality start and hopefully a first win in a month.

2
Chris Sale vs Arizona Diamondbacks
Last 3 starts: 2-0 record, 21 IP, 13 H, 2.57 ERA, 27 SO versus PHI, STL and SD
3
Justin Steele vs Cincinnati Reds
2023 season: 6-1 record, 2.20 ERA, 61.1 IP, 10 starts (9 quality starts)
