Valdez has been great this season with an ERA below 3.00 and has a high strikeout percentage this season. Decisions didn’t go his way this season but that should change if he continues with good pitching. Over the last few weeks, the Cubs are middle of the pack in batting average and that should be one more advantage to a great pitcher like Valdez.
