With only two games on schedule tonight all goalies should be started as we expect two thigh games that could go in either direction. Still, the Flyers and the Stars are favorites and their goalies should be started in all fantasy formats. The game between Philadelphia and Minnesota should be lower scoring between two games as both teams have scored below 2.25 goals per game since New Year(both teams played 5 games in 2024). Dallas and Nashville have played already two times this season and both games finish with only one goal difference so another tight game is expected tonight.
NHL Fantasy – Daily Goalie Rankings – Friday, January 12th, 2024

Hart hasn’t performed great in 2024 allowing 11 goals in three starts with a 1-2-o record(losses to Edmonton and Pittsburgh). He still holds a .911 save percentage this season and will look to improve on that against a struggling Wild team that scored only 8 goals in five games in 2024. That is an average of only 1.6 goals per game and have scored 2 or more goals only twice in those 5 games. If you own Hart in fantasy tonight is a good day to start him and expect him to deliver some good fantasy stats.
The Stars will likely announce their starter 30 minutes before game time and they have three options as they are on back-to-back games with a game against the Blackhawks tomorrow. Wedgewood is no. 1 option until Oettinger returns and his return could even come today or tomorrow. The Stars have won two stright and have a favorable matchup against the Predators today who allowed 14 goals in their last three games. Their last game against the Predators was on January 6th just a few days ago which finished with a 4-3 win for the Predators so we would expect the Stars to respond and take the win tonight with either of their goalies tonight.
Fleury has a 1-4-0 record since December 31st as he took over as the team’s no. 1 goalie. During that period he has allowed 3.00 goals per game but the Wilds’s offense has been the biggest problem with scoring only 1.6 goals per game in their last 5 games. A good thing in this matchup is that the Flyers aren’t really clicking offensively as they score only 2.20 goals per game in the last 5 games while going 2-2-1. This could be a low-scoring game but the Flyers should still be favored in this matchup.
Saros allowed 20 goals in his last 5 starts and in one of those games Saros recorded a shutout. Saros is at a .899 save percentage this season and his play has been far from as impressive as we are used to seeing from him. He already faced the Stars the season and recorded a loss while allowing 3 goals on 34 shots. He is the worst option today among goalie starters as he faces one of the best teams in the West who have scored 21 goals in 5 games in 2024(4.2 goals per game).
