NHL Fantasy – Daily Goalie Rankings – Tuesday, November 28th, 2023

by: Domagoj Erbežnik

There are 10 games on the NHL schedule on Tuesday and we have big games between Toronto and Florida, Dallas and Winnipeg, and Edmonton and Vegas to end the night. With Vegas and Florida on the second half of their back-to-back, you should be aware if you plan to start their goalies (Stolarz for Florida and Thompson for Vegas). Out of all the goalies in these three matches, Woll should be the one you should look forward to starting, and below him look for a matchup in Winnipeg to possibly be a low-scoring affair. Vegas and Edmonton should be involved in a high-scoring game tonight. Binnington and Jarry are goalies in good form and have favorable matchups tonight so they are a must-start tonight and should be involved in your daily fantasy plans. Hart, Skinner, and Soderblom shouldn’t be started in most fantasy formats tonight, and look to start goalies like Daccord, Ingram, and DeSmith in front of them.

1
Jordan Binnington vs Minnesota Wild
Grade: A

Binnington has been solid so far this season as he has a .909 save percentage and a 6-5-1 record. He is coming off a great performance against the Blackhawks as he made 32 saves on 34 shots. The Wild have lost 7 out of the last 9 games and have fired their coach just a few days ago. The Wild rank 22nd in the league, scoring only 2.95 goals per game. There aren’t many goalies with great matchups today and Binnington is certainly at the top of today’s rankings.

2
Tristan Jarry vs Nashville Predators
Grade: A

Jarry has a 3-0-1 career record against the Predators and will look to add another win tonight on the road. He had a great .934 save percentage in November and has allowed only 6 goals over his last three starts. Nashville ranks 15th in the league with 31.3 shots per game and has a top-15 offense with 3.35 goals per game. This is a game where the Pittsburgh Penguins should collect two points and Jarry should continue with his good form.

3
Pyotr Kochetkov vs Philadelphia Flyers
Grade: A-

Kochetkov goes against the Flyers tonight who have scored only 3 goals over the last three games and look to be in an offensive slump at the moment. They rank 20th in the league with only 3.00 goals per game and Kochetkov and Carolina should collect two points. The Hurricanes have won 3 out of the last 4 games and look like a team whose form has been improving over the last few weeks. Kochetkov has played 4 games in November and has a 2-1-0 record with a .917 save percentage. He has a loss in the 1st matchup against the Flyers this season as he allowed 3 goals on 24 shots and will look for revenge.

4
Jake Oettinger vs Winnipeg Jets
Grade: B

Oettinger isn’t in great form lately as he has a .894 save percentage over his last 9 starts. On the other side, his play on the road this season has been immaculate as he holds a 5-1-1 record with a .935 save percentage. The Jets look great lately as they won 8 out of the last 10 games but one of those losses came against the Stars in Winnipeg. Oettinger is yet to lose to the Jets as he has a 3-0-1 record against them in his career.

5
Ilya Sorokin vs New Jersey Devils
Grade: B-

Sorokin goes against the Devils tonight on the road in a matchup in which the high-powered offense faces one of the best goalies in the league. Sorokin still has a 6-3-1 record against the Devils during his career. He hasn’t been as great as in the past as he has a .917 save percentage this season. He has a 5-3-5 record while allowing only 2.95 goals per game. As soon as the Islanders start to score a few more goals his record should skyrocket.

6
Joseph Woll vs Florida Panthers
Grade: C+

Woll has been a better Leafs goalie this season as he has a .910 save percentage and a 6-5-0 record. Tonight he will go against the Panthers team on the 2nd half of their back-to-back. They played a hard game against the Senators last night as both teams combined for over 150 penalty minutes. In the net for the Panthers, we should see Anthony Stolarz and should make the job easier for talented Leafs forwards. Woll is a solid start in all fantasy formats tonight.

7
Joey Daccord vs Chicago Blackhawks
Grade: C+

Daccord goes against the Blackhawks tonight who rank 29th in the league with only 2.58 goals scored per game and 31st in the league with 27.6 shots per game. Daccord hasn’t been impressive this season but going against the Blackhawks most goalies should be started especially goalies from teams that are in the playoff picture.

8
Connor Ingram vs Tampa Bay Lightning
Grade: C

Ingram has a 7-3-0 record this season and holds a great .919 save percentage. His play both at home and on the road has been great and tonight he will face the Lightning team as they will be on 2nd night of their back-to-back. The Lightning are still one of the best offense teams in the league as they score 3.59 goals per game this season (5th in the league). This could be a close game but I would give a slight advantage to the Coyotes.

9
Thatcher Demko/Casey DeSmith vs Anaheim Ducks
Grade: C

The Canucks will go against the Ducks tonight in a matchup of two teams that have been struggling lately. The Canucks have only 2 wins over their last 6 games and they don’t look as great as earlier in the season. Canucks are still a much better team but expect the Ducks to still score a few goals that should cap either goalie (Demko/DeSmith). If Demko starts you can have him a few sports higher around the top 6 but if DeSmith starts 9th position looks like a good fit for him tonight.

10
Jonas Johansson vs Arizona Coyotes
Grade: C-

Johansson has played two games against the Coyotes over his career and has a 0-1-1 record with only a .871 save percentage. His play in November hasn’t been great as he has a save percentage of only .865 with a 4-3-2 record. The Lightning are on back-to-back and are coming off a loss to the Avalanche and this could be a tricky game for both Johansson and the Lightning.

11
Juuse Saros vs Pittsburgh Penguins
Grade: C-

Saros hasn’t played great lately as he has a 3-5-0 record over the last 8 games and has a save percentage of only .858. Tonight he will go against the Penguins who have recorded wins over Vegas and Toronto over the last few games. The Penguins didn’t score a bunch of goals lately but still generated a bunch of scoring chances. Be aware of those starts if you plan to start Saros tonight. Saros is also 2-3-0 against the Penguins so far in his career.

12
Connor Hellebuyck vs Dallas Stars
Grade: C-

Hellebuyck has been ok this season as he holds a 10-4-1 record with a .908 save percentage. He has already recorded a loss to the Stars earlier in the season in a close 3-2 game. He has a 2-2-3 record over the last 3 seasons against the Stars with a save percentage around .900. This could be another low-scoring game and Hellebuyck is startable in most formats but the Stars should still be a favorite in this top-tier matchup.

13
Vitek Vanecek vs New York Islanders
Grade: C-

Vanecek has allowed many goals this season and has a .884 save percentage. He has a .875 save percentage in November and things don’t seem too good for him at the moment. His fantasy value so far came as the Devils have been able to outscore their opponents so far. Going against the Sorokin tonight isn’t a matchup I would be looking to start Vanecek and would wait for another matchup. He has been below .900 in most categories this season.

14
Logan Thompson vs Edmonton Oilers
Grade: D+

Thompson and Golden Knights face a hot Edmonton team tonight and what could easily be a high-scoring match. Vegas is on back-to-back and the Oilers have played high-scoring games lately. I would avoid starting either goalie in this matchup tonight and if you have to start one I would be starting Thompson.

15
Anthony Stolarz vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Grade: D+

Stolarz and Florida will have a tough task tonight as they will face Toronto after a hard game in Ottawa yesterday. Stolarz has been solid with a 3-1-0 record this season along with a .917 save percentage. Stolarz should be avoided in most fantasy formats tonight.

16
John Gibson vs Vancouver Canucks
Grade: D

The Ducks are ice cold lately and going against a top 5 team in the East isn’t a position I would start their goalie.

17
Filip Gustavsson vs St. Louis Blues
Grade: D

The Wild have a new head coach and will look to turn their season around starting with tonight’s game against the Blues. Gustavsson has been poor this season so until we see some good performances from him I would avoid starting him.

18
Carter Hart vs Carolina Hurricanes
Grade: D-
19
Stuart Skinner vs Vegas Golden Knights
Grade: E+
20
Arvid Soderblom vs Seattle Kraken
Grade: E
