At the start of the new month, we have 4 games on schedule and some very interesting fantasy matchups in front of us. We start with the matchup in Philadelphia between two teams who started the season similarly and both teams play on average games with 6 goals. The last three games will be played in the Western Conference where we will see if Oettinger can shutout the Flames, 1st game of the season for Prosvetov, and a very interesting game between two young teams in Anaheim and Arizona. Oettinger and Dostal are two goalies everyone should have their eye on as Oettinger continues his bid for Vezina and Dostal could become the team’s no. 1 goalie soon if he continues with his great performances.
NHL Fantasy – Daily Goalie Rankings – Wednesday, November 1st, 2023

At 24 years old Oettinger is a top 3 goalie in the NHL. He has been amazing so far this season with a 4-0-1 record and a .940 save percentage. He is yet to allow more than 3 goals in a game and going against the Flames shouldn’t be a problem at this point in the season. The Flames hold a 2-6-1 record in a very bad start for them and have scored only 2.11 goals per game which puts them in 29th position in the league.
Dostal will face the Coyotes for the second time this season as he was credited with a loss in the first game while allowing only 2 goals on 27 shots. He has played in 5 games this season and holds a 4-1-0 record with a .921 save percentage and has looked great in every game so far. The 23-year-old has now played in 4 out of the last 6 games and if he continues with the same form he could take a no. 1 spot in goal soon. Gibson is also dealing with an injury so I would add Dostal in most fantasy formats as he could be a really good option for the rest of the season if both he and the Ducks continue with the same form. The Ducks have now won 4 straight games and two of them came against the Bruins and Penguins.
Despite going 2-2-1 over his first 5 starts Binnington has looked good and currently holds a .926 save percentage. All 5 games so far were against the team that should be in a playoff picture at the end of the season so that makes his stats even better. Tonight he will go against the Avalanche who haven’t scored a goal in their last two games. It is also likely that Prosvetov will be in the net for the Avalanche which could make a job for Binnington’s fantasy production a little easier.
Luukkonen will likely draw another start as Devon Levi is dealing with a small injury. Luukkonen and the Sabers are coming off a great performance against the Avalanche over the weekend as they won 4-0 at home. They will look to continue with good performances as they have scored at least 4 goals in each of the last 3 games. The Flyers have a 1-3-1 record over the last 5 games and after their hot start, they have started to look as bad as most of us thought. Luukkonen is a good streaming option for tonight but be aware that Levi should be back soon and with him back Luukkonen will see limited opportunities.
This could be a very close game and Hart can be started in a lot of leagues but you should be aware of Sabers’s good form over the last few games with at least 4 goals in each of the last 3 games. Hart has a .921 save percentage this season and has been a big reason why are the Flyers at a 4-4-1 record. All of his three losses came against playoff contenders in the Senators, Golden Knights, and Hurricanes.
Vejmelka is coming off back-to-back losses against the Kings and has another hard game in front of him as he will face the Ducks in Anaheim. His last win was against the Ducks on October 21st at home as he had a great performance stopping 32 out of 33 shots in a close 2-1 win. The Ducks are playing great and are on a 4 game-winning streak so be careful and manage expectations if you start Vejmelka.
Markstrom and the Flames are in complete shambles as they rank 15th in the West with only 5 points across nine games. Markstrom hasn’t won in the last 6 games he started and only won his 1st game of the season against the Jets. At this point, it is difficult to start any Flames goalie as their offense ranks 29th in the league with only 2.11 goals per game. Avoid starting Markstrom or Vladar if he starts and both of them shouldn’t be started in most fantasy formats moving forward.
Prosvetov could get the 1st start of the season as his Colorado Avalanche faces the Blues at home after a hard road trip where they didn’t score a goal last two games. Those two losses were the Avalanche’s first losses of the season after starting the season 6-0-0. The Avalanche have allowed 16 goals across the last 4 games and don’t look great defensively even with Georgiev in the net so I would avoid starting a goalie with only 14 NHL games played while recording a .873 save percentage.
