NFL Waiver Wire – Week 3

by: Domagoj Erbežnik

Interesting Week 2 is behind us and we still have very interesting players on the waiver wire. Make sure to add any of the three LA Rams starts at the moment in Kyren Williams, Puka Nacua, and Tutu Atwell. Williams is likely the only one who can maintain the same volume throughout the season as their wide receivers should see fewer targets when Copper Kupp returns (likely in Week 5). Other than them Nico Collins and Hunter Henry stand out in other positions if you need to upgrade them.

1
Kyren Williams - RB - Los Angeles Rams
25.1% owned (NFL Fantasy)

Williams played 95% of snaps in week 2 and is a clear no. 1 RB for the Rams as they put Cam Akers on the trade block. He again collected 52 yards on the ground and had a rushing TD and going with that he had 6 receptions for 48 yards and TD. He put up those numbers against one of the best defenses in the league and has a really good upside if he continues with the same volume and everything points in that direction. If he is still available in your leagues make sure to add him.

2
Tyjae Spears - RB - Tennessee Titans
1.5% owned (NFL Fantasy)

Spears again played over 35% of snaps and had a total of 8 rushing attempts and added 2 receptions. Those numbers look incoruting especially for Depp/Dynasty Leagues and he is a player I would look to add if you have a space on your fantasy roster. If Henry goes down he becomes a good flex option for sure.

3
Nico Collins - WR - Houston Texans
43.3% owned (NFL Fantasy)

Collins is a clear no. 1 option for a team that will throw the ball most of the time and he has a good passing QB in C.J. Stroud. He has a total of 20 targets and already has over 220 yards with a TD. He is climbing up every ranking category and he can be ranked as a top 25 WR in any fantasy format. Make sure to add him if your team is weak at wide receiver position.

4
Hunter Henry - TE - New England Patriots
53.3% owned (NFL Fantasy)

Henry once again saw steady volume with 6 receptions of 7 targets for 52 yards and a TD. With this, he now has 2 TDs on a season a looks to be a clear top option in the red zone for Mac Jones. With few TEs bringing good fantasy points Henry can easily be ranked in the top 7 at the position going forward. He is a player I would start before players like Goedart and Pitts at least in week 3 for now but make sure to roster him if you don’t have a top TE on your roster.

5
Sam LaPorta - TE - Detroit Lions
19.1% owned (NFL Fantasy)

LaPorta looks to be a good option for most fantasy teams going forward as he will see his usual 5-7 targets per game. He will also bring most of them for receptions (10 receptions on 11 targets) and the only bad thing for him is that he isn’t used a lot in the red zone for now with most of the work going to the RB position in Detroit. He is a good option and you can expect him to bring you around 10 points every week.
